A Channeling Exercise

This is a channeling exercise to meet your guide and ask a series of questions.

I see a black woman with long braids, wearing a white or very light gray robe. She is standing to my right, in front of me, extending her hand out to me. She’s very soft, smooth, gentle. The name Angelique pops in my mind.

Angelique, do you have any spiritual teachings for me today? "So many teachings. Where do we begin? It is for those who gather, who put forth the effect. Yes, the effect. The effect of the teachings. You were expecting me to say put forth the effort, but you typed effect, as it is. It is not only the effort, but what comes of the effort. The effect is the result of the effort. We think that putting forth effort is enough to be, but the effect is the honey. The effort, yes, the bees, but the effect is the honey. Oh how the honey is a temptress, too! Golden, dripping, slow to stir."

What is my true essence? "Love, that one is easy."

What is the purpose of this life? "To find the love. To be the love. To teach the love."

Is it important to accomplish a dream? "Only if it doesn’t take you out of your dream. Yes/No, it is for you to decide."

Is it important to work hard? "We explained the essence: the effort, the effect. Be the effect."

Is it important to simply be? "To be what, we ask you? For isn’t that the purpose- to find out what to be?"

Why are we here? "Oh, it is complicated. It is intricate. It is channlenging." [Do not correct it- challenging/channeling is intentional.]

What is love? "Love is you, for how it can be any other? Perfection."

What is hate? "Hate is misunderstanding."

Does darkness exist? "Does it?" [Question turned back to me.] "If you allow it."

What is light? "How do you question darkness if you do not know light?"

What is the hope of the world? "To come together, join hands." [Showing me the illustration of children holding hands over the earth, around the top of the earth].

What is the challenge of all beings? "To have hope. To support one another."

What is the Universe? "Home. The Universe is home."

What is a soul? "It is a piece of the Universe, a piece of home."

What is Oneness? "It is all the same. The Universe, the home, the soul – it is all One."

When should I next return to you? "Tonight, to the Council of Light channeling."

I found for this exercise, it worked well to move from one question to the next- allowing the time for the initial thought...only those two or three sentences/ideas that immediately entered. Lingering can allow the left brain to begin creeping in to correct wording or spelling and lose or miss the message by overthinking. My guide was quick to stop me from backspacing when the wording was intentional. A good example is the word "effort" as I caught myself anticipating the word that follows "put forth the ____", but my fingers typed "effect". The message with that small substitution of "effect" was not at all the same as "putting forth effort" and quite the beautiful message to put my attention to my effect with all actions.

This is also a good example of why the practitioner keeps the questions steadily flowing in a QHHT session. Following the concept of right brain being your create and intuitive side of the brain and the left side being the logical and analytical side of the brain,  if the practitioner pauses long enough, the client may default to their left brain and possibly take them out of the trance. Channeling is all about staying in the right brain; the part of the brain that receives, that doesn't question or correct. The left side of the brain properly orders words during a speech. The right brain processes meaning of a set of words with more than one possible implication.

In other words, my left brain wanted to correct "effect" to "effort" and my right brain was willing to hear the explanation of why "effect" changed the meaning entirely. All of this moves entirely fast. My experience is that the right brain grasps/understands thought blocks and is already moving along with the next message while the left brain wants to translate the entirety of the thought block for the self, word for word. The more you channel, the more you receive thought blocks that don't require the slower process of putting it to words.

If you are interested in learning more about how to channel, Sara Wiseman offers a great $15 course called The Channeling Project that you can find on her website. I also recommend Be a Conduit for Your Guides and Angels to learn how to connect with your Spirit Guides.
