I Acknowledge You

To the bird in the wetlands, "I acknowledge you."

There is a bird, or some type of animal, that chirps at night in the wetland area behind my house. Some nights, all night. I hear it late and it chirps intermittently so as I start to fall asleep, there it goes, "Chirp!" I sometimes try to will it away. I returned to my meditation and heard the chirping.

Council: "I acknowledge you. If you wish it away, it will surely stay. I acknowledge you."

Me: "Can I ask it to move down the way so I don't hear it at night?"

Council: "I acknowledge you. Wishing it to leave only keeps it in your vibration. Acknowledge it and it will move along."
Me: "All this time it was a lesson to acknowledge...with love."

Council: "It wants to be heard and so it calls out."

Me to the animal: "I hear you. I acknowledge you. I care." The chirp stopped. I didn't hear it the rest of the night. I still hear it some nights, especially around the full moon, but I am more welcoming and tolerant of the chirp. Almost makes me smile.
